FAQ

Here’s some answers to questions that come in regularly. If you can’t find what you need, write me a message.

In short: I help you get your wisdom and answers to the surface and get clear on what needs to happen for you to create change and transform your life. Along the way we’ll address habits and beliefs that block you and you’ll find your ways of being that serve you better.

Facing what you know deep down already can be challenging and is something we aren’t always used to. I help you shed light on that what feels scary, in a safe space and completely at your own pace. It requires courage to change direction and make choices you previously wouldn’t have. In order to support you best I draw on tools, exercises and frameworks from Existential Coaching, Mindset work, Positive Psychology, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioural Coaching (CBC). I also work with narrative coaching, imagination and metaphors. Often my clients are people who like to think visually.

No. You can start working with a coach from any place and situation you might be in. Whether you feel stuck and need help setting a direction for yourself, or you’re doing really well but there is that one thing you’d like some guidance with. A coach can support you in a specific area of life, or in a broader general perspective.

Great! I work with people from any background. Let’s have a chat and find out if we’re a good fit.

While there are many overlapping areas and techniques, in general we could say that Therapy and Counselling help you make sense of the present by looking at the past.

Coaching on the other hand is primarily future focussed. By focussing on what you want (or finding out what that is), we invoke the internal “system” in which you’ve lived so far, and figure out what still serves you and what you might want to let go of. Coaching also assumes an equal relationship between coach and coachee, with the latter being the expert of their life and regarded as creative, resourceful and whole.

If you are not sure of whether you need therapy or coaching, let’s talk.

Some people work with a coach and a therapist at the same time. In that case I recommend to inform your therapist of your intentions to work with a coach as well. If you suspect you might be dealing with a mental health issue, I always recommend to talk to a mental health professional.

Yes we can talk. We can have a short chat or email conversation if you just want some questions answered. If you really want to know if coaching is for you, I recommend to book a full complementary coaching conversation (45min.) with no strings attached. After that, we decide whether we continue working together.

After we’ve had a coaching conversation and we decide to work together, you receive your agreement and an invoice. Payment is to be done up front, in full or in instalments, by bank transfer. Clients outside of the Eurozone can make use of services like Wise (formerly Transferwise).

Perhaps you could think of what you’ve tried and used so far to feel better, to understand yourself more, or to find answers to your questions and challenges. You’ve probably had some or more insights along the way and found helpful strategies.

Coaching gives you the opportunity to make all of this last. It asks you to get real and commit to doing things differently, not just in sessions, but every day. Not for a week or a year, but for life.

What makes us consider coaching rather than picking up another book or going on a holiday? It’s when we’re ready to commit to change, connect with our courage and do the work.
